Singapore's main work visa for professionals, managers, and executives earning above the qualifying salary threshold.
The Employment Pass (EP) is the primary work visa issued by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to foreign professionals, managers, executives, and specialists. The minimum qualifying salary is S$5,000/month (S$5,500 for financial services), rising with age. Applicants must also pass the COMPASS framework - a points-based assessment of salary, qualifications, diversity, and skills. The EP is initially valid for up to 2 years and renewable for up to 3 years. EP holders can sponsor dependants under the Dependant's Pass.
A 35-year-old foreign engineering director earning S$10K/month is eligible for an EP if they meet COMPASS (typically a score of 40+ across the 4 attributes).
