Unique Entity Number
A 9 or 10-character identifier issued by ACRA to every Singapore-registered business entity.
The Unique Entity Number (UEN) is the standard identification number for any business entity registered in Singapore. Issued by ACRA, it is permanent for the life of the entity and used for all interactions with government agencies (IRAS, MOM, CPF, MAS, SFA), banks, and other businesses. UEN format depends on entity type: Singapore-incorporated companies receive a 10-character UEN ending in a letter (e.g., 202012889R), while sole proprietorships and partnerships receive a 9-character ROB number (e.g., 53412345A).
When you incorporate a Pte Ltd through ACRA, you receive your UEN immediately upon approval - typically within hours. The UEN appears on your Business Profile and is required when opening a bank account, registering for GST, or applying for any government licence.
