Singapore Standard Industrial Classification Code
A 5-digit code that identifies a company's primary business activity at ACRA.
Every Singapore company must declare at least one Singapore Standard Industrial Classification (SSIC) code at incorporation. The code is a 5-digit number that maps to a specific industry classification under SSIC 2020. A company can declare up to 2 codes (primary and secondary). SSIC codes determine eligibility for certain grants and tax incentives, and some codes (financial services, F&B, education) trigger downstream licensing requirements.
A SaaS startup typically picks 62019 (Other software development) as its primary code. A food delivery business might pick 47913 (Online sale of food and beverages) plus 56122 (Food caterers) as a secondary.
